This year has seen natural materials coming to the forefront of interior
design and homeware design.
Soft, light bleached woods, with natural
wood grain running throughout.
New Nordic Naturals is all about the
fresh natural aesthetic within design.
Wood cladding and feature wall
pieces are undoubtedly coming back. There’s also a strong stylised
reappearance of wooden cabinets in kitchen design, but with more up to
date tones such as the lighter Nordic hues.
Natural wood 'shelfies'

Natural wood can be brought in to a room in various ways. For instance,
using tiles and wood flooring as a room base. Mix up the tonal woods
with wooden propping and weathered textures for contrast.
Exposed shelving is still hugely on trend, I’m sure you’ve seen
‘shelfie’ posts on social media. Style up your wooden shelving with
tonal propping and textures, and include a few plants for a natural
green touch.
Feature cladding

Bathrooms for 2017-18 are certainly getting more attention, often the
last place to get a thoughtful makeover. Why not try the light wood
tones here? Such as this design using wood tiles to create a feature
wall. Perfectly offsetting the white ceramics in the room.
Just go for it! With this kitchen design we went for it with the
bleached wood tones. Using it on the floor and walls to create a serene,
flowing space. Propping kept muted and stylised with whites and light
greys, plus hints of wood which evokes that Scandinavian touch.
