Feature walls are back with impact. Moving on from the simple
effects of wallpaper and paint, designers are thinking outside the box and
using different materials to add colour and texture to create real wow factor
in interior spaces.
Tiles are a great way to make a statement and bring character to a
room. Typically seen in the bathroom and kitchen, but a tiled chimney breast in
a living room or a tiled headboard in a bedroom is a much more adventurous use
and adds interest with a dramatic focal point.
Playful patterns

The splash
back tiles on this kitchen wall is a fun way to add colour and pattern. Also,
placing vertically instead of horizontally is a refreshing alternative. This
design would make even more of a statement if used in a living or dining space.
Combining multiple materials is another way to personalise a wall,
or in this case, a floor. The zig zag design works well to divide up the space
and zone areas. With open-plan living this would also work on walls to separate
and outline the different spaces.
Luxury touch

A luxurious Grecian them has been achieved in this spacious
bathroom with an impactful mosaic which looks like a huge marble sculpture from
a distance.
For those with a passion for plants, why not bring the outside
into the home with a vertical garden or living wall? Used here in a concrete wet room, it adds a
vibrant jungle feel to the space.

Team Set Visions is made up of a diverse creative bunch. Our interior design team is no exception ensuring
all our clients receive the very best ingenious design scheme every time.
This position needs an all-round hero who has
a flair for detail, a skilled drill user and someone who can easily absorb and
interpret industry design trends. We’d like to welcome Jules to our styling
team who will be key to both our photography and CGI departments.

Jules, what interior design trends are grabbing your attention?
“I have always had a thing for retro and vintage pieces which I
love to combine with current trends to keep it looking modern. Currently I am still
loving the botanical trend, as a plant addict I love the feeling of bringing
the outside in. I also like the darker moody paint colours that are being seen
more and more, as seen in the Teal Tease blog.”
How do you keep up with industry changes?
“I have quite a collection of interior design books and magazines,
but these do date quite quickly. I find the most up to date source of
inspiration is from all the amazing people I follow daily on Instagram.
I am also a Pinterest addict! You can find anything and everything on
there!”
Lastly what is your favourite set you’ve styled so far?
“It has to be the Wickes paint job. It was great to work on such a
lovely brief and three very different sets that were all about being brave and
experimenting with paint colour. Right up my street!”

Team
SV are proud to be part of the national initiative ‘Kit for Kids’.
Our location photography team have been
coordinating the national shoot, ensuring that every one of the 72 Football
League Clubs in England have been photographed with their star players meeting
their own local junior rising stars.

The community based initiative invited local youth
clubs to say what a new team kit would mean to them. The lucky winners also have the privilege of
their junior grass root stars of the future to visit their local team and meet
the current star players.
The mammoth coordination is ongoing, with
professional looking junior teams generating great publicity content which is
being used across multiple social media platforms.

Statement islands will feature heavily in 2017, this is supported by
worktop technologies and the wide array of new worktop finishes entering
the market. Mixing is the name of the game: texture, thickness, height
and colour - anything goes. Open storage features are also a must in
your island design, stretch your creativity but keep it practical.
Use product creatively

A split level island is a clever way to reduce the appearance of bulk
without reducing worktop space. It’s also a nice way of softening the
transition from kitchen to a dining/living space.
Get creative with lighting and give your island that flouting feeling,
here we’ve paired it with a universal sliding doors system that adds
real drama as well as creative display.
Contrast finishes

Mixing Worktop textures create a real statement contrasting not only
finishes but thinness too, complimenting display features and
splashbacks both play a big part in this look.
Make a feature with contrasting kitchen fascias, you need to be bold to
make a statement it’s not the time to play safe…sometime more is more!
